the body reacts wierd that way in shock when its deep it takes a while for the blood to flow plus the scissors are plugging the hole .
I sliced thru the middle of my fingers once could see the vein severed it took a long time before it stared gushing asked the dr why and thats what he told me .

yeah you're right...my father cut two of his fingers with a table saw a while ago, and it took a few seconds before any blood could be seen. Then it just poured like hell...weird indeed how the body reacts.
