in the U.S., There are Channel Cat x Blue catfish, Brown Bullhead x Channel catfish, Yellow bullhead x Channel catfish, White Catfish x Channel cat, Black bullhead x Channel cat, flathead catfish x channel cat. Theres a start.

i've heard of a few of these...pretty rare but they are naturally occuring, and thats just the US. there are probably more naturally occuring catfish hybrids then ray hybrids....heck probably more naturally occuring catfish hybrids then ray species.

Are you waiting for a group of people to just jump in here and agree?

Your trying to post in a catfish forum, and say that some catfish aren't allowed. Now how crazy does that sound?

If you don't like them... then simply don't open the thread that says TSN x RTC.

I don't see any of your stingray hybrids posted in the hybrid forum either. Now if you got one would you post it there and HOPE someone with stingray knowledge would go in there? No, you would go where the stingray people are, and where you would get the best answer.

do all of thease cats have the same latin name at the start or are the totaly duffrent ?

No, those are all different species. Honestly though, I have never heard of any of those hybrids (except for the channel/blue catfish hybrid) and if they do exist I doubt they are found naturally in the wild.

They are all in the same family, the bullheads are in the same genus, the blue, cannel, and white catfish are in the same genus, and the flathead is in its own genus, and of course they are all different species, making them naturally occuring hybrids when they naturally breed, or hrbridize in the wild

The white catfish belongs to the same genus as the bullheads (Ameiurus). And again, never heard of these hybrids. Any sources?

you've never heard of a channel x blue? there is a lot of talk about farming this instead of channel catfish. i'm pretty sure i've heard that this was originally naturally occuring but i'm guessing its pretty rare if sandtiger has never heard of it.

not the same as this man made stuff like flower horn parrot and TSN this and that

all the fish stated above are man made hybrids which are no better than crossing a cat with a dog or a man with an ape

this is the kind of hybrid i cant stand when man trys to play god

what was wrong with TSN or RTC before all thease hybrids took over the fish were nice enought all ready why play around with nature

I'm not big of hybrids myself but you need to calm down. Different strokes for different folks. Just ignore the threads that promote them. Like I said before, the forum cannot meet the specific needs of all it's members and you're the only one who seems to have a problem with where these hybrids are talked about.

Lets not split hairs here................

Different species of rays that interbreed in a ray keepers tank are still...HYBRIDS!!!!!!!!

Some might say since they weren't concieved in a test tube they are not.....but if the keeper had not had them together they would not have bred!!!!!!

Since MAN had them together, MAN created them!!!! (Of course unless the ray keeper is a woman):ROFL::ROFL:

Nuff said!!

FYI.............

I have never been a big fan of hybrids of any kind, but after seeing a few of the cat hybrids I am leaning towards a RTC X TSN or a RTC X Marble.

Oh and by the way like everyone else in the catfish forum, I too will be tossing them in the natural waterways when they get to big for me to house...........just not sure if it will be Lake Michigan or Lake Erie!!!
