why

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the standards have been raised but the average aro we see for sale are the same as 2 years ago

the average xback or super reds we see for sale cost on average us$2000

that price is just about acceptable by most aro keepers to spend on fish

for that us$2000 the fish will come from a dealer who has paid all the shipping and import tax

if you buy a us$2000 aro don't expect it to be great like all the picture you see posted on the net

if your paying $10,000 to $20,000 for an aro, I as a customer will be very hard to please for that type of cash.

BIG money demands high quality without faking it.

i still say its all about trust for big money fish from overseas. or take your chance with a cheaper small aro.

here in the uk you pay £1000 for a small super red but you get what your given as you have to buy it to order. if a shop gets 2 or 3 super reds in (which is very very rare!) the they will be charging £2000 and will only be getting the same quality as you can order for £1000 from someone willing to import.

OK lets look at it this way you spend us$20k on a high grade red

in 6 months time what are you going to do post it back if the fish dies on return shipping its your loss not the sellers

also if you pay $20k and the fish is not developing the way you hope and you contact the sell I'm fairly sure the response you will get will be YOU NEED TO GIVE IT MORE TIME

with reds you need to give them 3-5 years if after that 5 years the aro hasn't lived up to your expectations i find it hard to believe the seller will have any time for you or if hes even still trading

I think it is quite impossible for seller to promise you 100% the fish will be this color, for red and XB. Because we're dealing with color hues. Just what I'm thinking...I could be wrong tho

:iagree:

i just think if you are spending car money on a fish then you should have some guarantee that you will get a top grade fish if you pay top money

if you pay Ferrari money and get a skoda you would be disappointed wouldn't you

if you pay xback money you should get a xback not a aro that looks no better than a HBRTG

if you pay top money for a XB and get a fish look like a normal HB then yes this is purely con case. Any top money XB should have good shine and at least 80% pearl.

But they're special cases, if you;re looking for BBXB, no guarantee of crossing, yu might end up with just 5th level.

then buy marketing the fish as super grade blue base xback this is a con don't you think

as anything sold as a xback should have full crossing or its not a xback its just a higher grade HBRTG

So what you are saying is dont bother buying the us$2k xbacks as they are not much better than HBRTG

I'm not saying a HBRTG is not a nice fish but why pay xback money when you can get the same grade fish for less with the same shine level

I see more uncrossed xbs than crossed. I'm not sure what people have paid for them, but it is disturbing to me.

exactly my point if you see a xback that has been put in a white tank the shine levels will look very high for a young 7 inch so called xback and you will pay the higher price

when that aro is placed in non white tank the shine level will drop so for me we have been conned out of our money this is not right

you are right how many adults do we see that are fully crossed on forums like this

we see lots of nice farm pics showing what what we might get if we part with lots of money but we hardly ever see them in home tanks
