Since tap water isn't fish safe then why is it considered human safe ?

It doesn't kill us immediately, so it's hard to link. But it does contain harmful levels of many substances like flouride and chlorine. Once people figure out that we only have to rinse our mouths with flouride, not drink it, they will take it out of the tap water. Until then, wave goodbye to your kidneys every time you drink a glass of water...

Little things really, you dont breath your water, you drink it. and you weigh a bit more then a fish, and some people (my brother for eg) have been putting city water in their fish tanks and will never do any different, and he has a 14+ " Jaguar thats at least 6 years old. If you have a water tolorant fish it could be fine but ive always treated mine.

third kidney is due to luck in developing as a fetus and or genetics, had x-rayable liquid run through kidneys, and when x-rays developed showed three normal sized and working kidneys. two on one side one on the other side.

So siesta it is toxic to fish due to additives in water and due to the fact fish breath through their water.

I personally can't afford as of now to always replace faucet filter pads. I just really hate having my tap smell like chlorine.

Its the chlorine mostly. It supposed to burn thier gills. Yeah I mean the smell is what it is. I wouldnt stop drinking tap water because of it. Youll be fine. If money is tight then try useing your tap water in frequent smaller water changes. think 10% a day instead of 30-50 a week. What kind of fish is it?

I'd equate it to having a light mix of chlorine gas with regular air on the aveloli of your lungs. Drinking its probably not great for ya either tho. :/ I have well water, it kinda smells like sulfur.
