kidney thing is no joke for real.

Just a pain that the company that charges for water use here charges for when it comes out the pipes and then charge us again when the water goes down the pipes.

the main reason i asked about the health risk of tap is due to what i need to do to the water to make it fish safe, yet it is so called people safe.:screwy: espaecially when yah can smell the chlorine when yah turn on the tap.

Otolith i would love to have tht well water of yours , then on occasioan the water company does give us well water .
just make sure metal levels are as low as physically possible, those metals will mess yah up quick.

Its really Iron-y too, the shower kinda gets a rusty tint to it. As far as I know Fe is the only metal in it. How do you find out what all is in your water, send it off to a lab or do they have kits for toxins?

I really should post the email I sent to my cities water works last night about the nitrates in my areas well.... Amusing to say the least I had a few tall ones ... Read it this morning still like it. Should atleast attract an interesting response from them.

I understand, like I said You will be fine and the fish if given SMALL water changes will more then likly be fine as well. If you take a cup to your LFS they will more then likly test it for free. Fish should be ok. BTW, well water can be just as bad as city.

usually yah can get a local lab to test it or a national lab, National Testing Labs (800-458-3330), Suburban Water Testing (800-433-6595), but it can get costly.

Skyy did that and chlorine is off the charts high. so prime is used.

Water has a high toxicity, even for humans!
They calculate toxicity by multiplying a certain amount until it's lethal.
If you'd drink 5 liters, you'd start to hallucinate and will die!
And that's a fact!

LOL, it absolutly is not. I'm in the military and drink over a gallon a day, every day. I havent seen a pink rhino in weeks.

One of the main reasons for nitrates in source water is

"Leakage from septic tanks"

" Fertilizer run off"

Im quoting my cities water report.

Chlorine evaporates so if you want to remove it for cheap ( Free ) just let it sit out for a while.
