I prefer NTTs over ITs. In my experience with both types, NTTs are not as shy and are way more aggro at bigger sizes. Not aggro like my NGT, but close.

NTTS are very delicate, but imo only when they're under 2.5-3" or so.

Ater 2 years I lost a total of five NTT ranging from 5-7" to SDS that i have raise from 2-3", but i'm still trying to get one over 10". That's when I think they are less likely to SDS. Rite now i still have 3 in my tank. 1@7", 1@5" 1@4".

There are plenty of classic ITs out there. I wouldn't say people prefer ITs over the NTT. I think it has a lot to do with ITs being more common, cheaper, and easier to care for than NTTs
