and a male or female Florida snapper
i know commons stay smaller they floridas

The males get larger than the females in both Common and Florida Snappers. And actually the record size and length goes to the Common.

wow really all i can find is that common get 7 in - 16 in and Floridas get 12 in - 19 in

ive seen commons with a carapace length of like 24 up in CT they were huge! if u wanna go catch them i can give u the name of the lake but its private and in fairfeild county

Males get bigger

Commons get large i've cought male and female snappers with carapaces around 18'' i cought a male with a carapace that was 26'' and was around 30-35 pounds mabye heavier and i've seen bigger snappers that i couldn't catch

common snapper record 19 3/8' also lists wild caught at up to 75 lbs and a monster captive at 86lbs thats a big boy
florida snapper record size 17 1/4' and record weight at 47 1/2lbs
But those are the babys the real deal is the Macroclemys temminckii (Alligator Snapper) Record 31 1/2 ' and a 50 year captive weighs 316 lb's

two summers ago i saw a monster common snapper, well all i could see were its eyes and the tip of its nose above the water but its eyes were atleast 6" apart

thinking about it more the 26'' one i caought probably weighed more like 50-60 pounds

very very few people have seen a common snapper with a carapace length of more than 20 inches.

Its safe to say they are out there but I would bet its plenty hard to find a pic of a ruler showing the proof.
