wide black bar silver dollar ...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
These are pretty cool fish that love to spar with each other. Another means of variation is that the wide bar myleus schomburgki has blue hooks. I just sold my 3 10inchers.

I've never seen the blue hook do you have any pictures to share?

If you look closely, you'll see the blue hue on their hooks (and other fins as well). They may get more obvious as they get larger. Here is a pic of my old ones. The largest one was probably closer to 11-12in in diameter and THICK!

thanks all!!! and does anyone know where to get these in the tristate area? nj/ny/ct?

Rapps just got some in so I thought I would bump this thread.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know how big these fish get? I'm looking for some larger SDs for an Amazon biotope project. Thanks.

There's some that are 14+ inches. those are the Wide bar blue hooks/EBH
The thin bar red hooks/ERH don't get as big which I think the largest I've seen in fellow hobbyist tanks are about 7inches
