Can someone measure how far the AC 110 sticks out from behind their tank and how high from the top of the tank it goes? Thanks in advance.

I guess how thick the rim of your tank is will make a mild difference...
The AC 110 itself is 4" thick (front to back)... It seems the filter fits tighter on FSM's rim than mine does on my Oceanic 125 gal. They stick out about 4 1/3" from the rim of the tank or 4 1/2" from the back glass, at the top of the filter...
I angle mine slightly to the front, which makes teh bottom stick out from teh tank a bit more than the top. Mine stick out right at 5" at the bottom of the filter.

I have an intank filter (Wisper 40i?) in a fake tree stump with a couple smaller penguins in the space in question now, but I am about to do a reorganization with all my tanks-this will require immediate HOB filters pre-seeded. so I will need one big filter that takes up most if not all of that 12" gap on the side of this tank.

Be careful when moving and adjusting Aquaclear filters, they crack easily. My 110 cracked slightly while adjusting. I put some plumbers tape to stop the leak. I think mainly it was due to the tank being very close to the wall which put the back of the AC's right up against the wall making them difficult to adjust from the front.
