hmm never had that problem before, and have had plenty of bogwood over the years. maybe cause i soak thoroughly then boil it before goes into tank

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but I have the same problem with my Mopani driftwood pieces and I was wondering if after the 2 initial weeks, if the fungus dies and never comes back?? I agree that it has to do with soft wood and from the fact that it's rotting inside the water, but if that's the case...why does it stop after 2 weeks?

I took my piece of wood out of the water and rinsed it thoroughly in HOT water and used a pipecleaner brush to get the harder spots, but after 24hrs back in the tank, it is growing back again.

lemme know.....will otos eat the fungus as well?
