Wife sprayed filter socks with Lysol.

Thats nothing. My wife sprayed cleaner on the top of my home theater amplifier, with an open vent top for air flow.

Its a $1000 paper weight now, but its clean!

true story.. I killed a cable box last year by spilling an old cup of coffee across the room...hard floor ,,,the coffee BOUNCED into the air vent on the thing from 10 ft away... and the box was even under a table the tv sits on
