Fleshy or Wiggles or anyone else may know, is it difficult keeping sps corals like chalice? I'm used to things that have mouths so that I know thier being fed?

Maybe I should throw in a chalice in my tank, however I really don't know much about them lighting, hardiness...etc

I just ordered six pounds of dry rock from Reef Cleaners; the funny part is that it cost half as much as it would to buy the rock around me, and that's with the shipping factored in! I'm just going to use sand from the 55 gallon for the substrate in order to jump start the cycle and to cut down on the cycle time.

Chalice corals are considered to be LPS rather than SPS. From what I understand, it's not too hard to care for them since they don't require a lot of light and only need moderate water flow; they really only need fed once a week.

really lps? Give me a sec let me look at liveaquaria...

I guess thier lps, since it said they eat meaty fins but however don't require it. I think I got confused with montiporas as that what I really want one day in my tank because of how they look in newyorksteelo's tank...he's on youtube if anyone's curious.

Chalice sounds interesting, I have a feeling your tank is gonna turned out like it just came from the coral reefs lol it's gonna look awesome! You better keep us updated lol

I'll have to check out his YouTube channel for ideas.

I sure hope that it looks as if it was just plucked from a coral reef; I'm certainly going to try my best to get it to that level. Updates will be posted as they come up, but expect a relatively dry period for updates during the time that it takes to cycle (shouldn't take too long).

As big I I'm with marine fish...I simpy love REPTILES! That tree boa is gonna look sick, post pics in the reptile threads lol. Also you should go pick it up at the reptile expo.

I'm posting a new thread for it over in the reptiles area. I never could find any of these snakes at any of the shows that I've gone to over the past few months, so I ordered this one from a vendor on Kingsnake. The snake is coming via UPS, so I have to be on the lookout for three different delivery companies tomorrow (FedEx [Aquarium], USPS [Heater & Purigen], and UPS [snake]); they were all supposed to arrive on separate days, too. :nilly:

Lol good luck, btw if interested for a drive, have you visited the Reptile Expo in white plains?

Here's a link if curious:

www.reptileexpo.com

I use to go thier often when I had reptiles (savannah monitors, leo geckos, corn snake, skinks.....) it's a great place, everything is dirt cheap from equipment to the very livestock themselves.
