I guess this is over my head. All I want to do is have a spare copy so when the boys play frez-be with the game I'm not out $50. I guess its harder them copying a cd:confused:

Pretty sure they want you to spend another $50.. they wouldn't allow backing up games, because then it would be easy to transfer/steal them. Nintendo is the primary gaming company of the new generation for a reason ;) If anyone doubts this, check out Wii sales vs. Xbox or Ps3..

or perhaps they just make cheap games on purpose and overcharge for ultra-cheap hardware.. basically they fool the public into thinking these products are worth alot.
It doesn't matter how cheap the game is. If you want it, you buy it. If you think it's too expensive, don't buy it. And since it's "brainwashing cr*p", why don't you stop stealing it?

Don't let your kid near the CD's. Also, given the strict rules here regarding speaking about alcohol, drugs and such, I hardly think talking about mod chips (which are illegal in some countries) is permissable.
This is an excellent point. Mod chips are illegal when it regards getting something that you would usually pay for for free without giving any money to the company deserves it.

Modding isn't illegal. There are legall uses for mod chips like running homebrewed games for developers and such. But if you use it for anything else that's a different story.

I bet it doesn't cost more than $20 to produce a Wii overseas..

I refuse to give money to anything media related, Mp3, CDs, Games, etc.. its all just brainwashing crap anyways for people to waste their time and money on instead of focus on the real values in life.

Anyways, I am going to go play THPS1 on my PSP now.. :D I'm brainwashed.

Are you aware of how much developers get paid? And how much school and the cost of schooling to get your degree to be able to develop the game? Let alone game developers? Sure maybe 20 bucks to put the game on a disc. But to actually create the games. Let alone it takes hundreds of staff to produce everything for a game. 50 bucks a game is more then reasonable. I really take offense when you say that its an over rich market.

"Anything else" includes getting a game for free.

Not my fault game developers pay money to go to school and get paid slave labor wages to 'do something they love' .. not my fault that ALL major media companies produce their products overseas and have underage children work for pennies a day.

Keep drinking the kool-aid..

Not a rich industry?

From Page 10 of the statement:

Total Europe Sales for Q1: $1.62 billion USD

PS. I still refuse to pay for Games ;) such a waste of money.

oh and don't try to tell me "Well if you dont pay for games they wont have the money to continue to make them" because obviously they have enough money to continue evolving and producing. Compare Wolfenstein3D to Halo3. They made money off someone..

I think you missed it, it costs a lot for what a developer does. It's not slave labor. As a simple web developer, I get paid pretty darn well for only being 2 years outa school. And that's not as simple as a game developer. I couldn't even IMAGINE how much just one developer makes. Let alone the hundreds thats in the making of a game.

oops I suck.

Yeah they get paid too much, you're right..

Thanks for proving my point ;)

haha okay lets drop it..

I sold all my consoles to get a NDS and PSP and mod'ed them.. I love to play emulator oldschool games like FinalFantasyIV and TonyHawk1.. the new age games and first person shooters IMO kinda suck - all graphics not the classic OG gameplay. Maybe I am just a simpleton, but I love busting out a rousing game of SUPER SPRINT (NES) once and a while!
