I don't think you need uv sterilizer with them.
I used sponge filter only.
Keep in mind, they are labyrinth fish and breath in the surface.
They do better at 6.5 to 7 ph and 78 to 80 water.
Wow. Really. I know that they're labryinth fish because, ofcourse, they're bettas, but I've read up on the Macrostoma that they need really good filteration. That's pretty neat to know now. I'll have to get some later downt he year. GLWS.
