lets hope when i get my aro, he wont decide to try to have a huge snack like that. and it he trys it hes going in my other empty 125 alone in the basement with all the breeder tanks and smaller 65- and not in the tank in my room.
just a word of warning, lungfish has such powerful jaw that many times the first bite is also the last bite for the victim, i.e. fatal. So there's usually no time for you to react and correct the situation. and sometimes the lungfish coulda been living fine with the other fish for well over a year before deciding to strike out of the blue.

anyway, it'll depend somewhat on the temperament of the fish, but just remember the real risk of keeping anything with an african lungfish. i personally wouldn't keep anything i mind losing with an african lungfish (or even with a SA lungfish...i had one that had bit my other fish).

Congrats on the new Lung Bud man. Too bad its African, I guess you will just have to play it by ear to see if it is going to work out. Best of luck to you. Hes a real stunner!!!

agreed...
generally they are killers...
but there are a few individuals out there that are fine with tankmates.
mine was one of them.
been with aros,cichlids,polypterus,pbass etc.

its definitely an african lung, i have an 18incher with a similar pattern.
