Count your blessings. These fish cannot be found in local waterways. They can be tank bred but not found in local canals or lakes.

Very few have bred peruvian altums. The only commonly bred angel is the common P. scalare.

I think you are very confused. Peruvian Altums are not Altums. They are Altums look alikes and are considered Scalare.

Real Altums are from Colombia and Venezuela.

I suggest you check and recheck and verify your source of information.

I know that. But the peruvian scalare has not been bred very often. The fish pictured is commonly call the peruvian scalare, or the peruvian altum. The fish in the pictures are a species of angel that are not like altums, nor scalare, and although consider P. scalare, many believe them to be a seperate species. The only angel that has been commonly bred is the P. scalare.

No claim is being made on this thread that the fish on sale on this thread are altums. In fact it is stated clearly that they are Scalare from Peru on the initial post and are wild caught not tank bred.

Florida Guppies Plus here Miami have bred Peruvian Scalares and is one of the few that have.

Sorry it's hard to tell from your picture that yours is the same as mine. The flash is obscuring the real appearance. Your fish does not look like they have body spots.....And Please stop trying to confuse this thread by trying to establish id of your fish. If you need help in id of your fish please create your own thread in the appropriate Angelfish forum.
