I just picked this guy up who was said to be sold as a wild gorillus around 3 Years ago, ive seen some wild gorillus slip through with wild "Columbian" imports that are usually Rio mags, he was one of those fish.20160912_161241.jpg 20160912_211655.jpg

You guys have new gene. That might be a big female.

Not wild caught though
Can you prove this? There have been a few groups of wild umbee brought in from Columbia that have had gorillus mixed in, and this is one of them, unless someone can prove that its not than you can't say it isn't, if that's the case no wild fish can be said is wild unless the keeper caught it themselves.

If I remember right, they aren't from Colombia but from Panama and an area that is not commercially collected. And it's not like it's right across the border either, but quite a ways away.

There's only been 2 ppl in the hobby that have successfully imported black umbees in to US. (Rapps isn't one of them.)

If you acquired yours as a Gorillus, than you likely have an F1 or F2 even. The man that brought in the only 2 pairs of Gorillus umbees kept and bred them both, he never parted with either one. I know this for a fact.

Have you personally seen every WC juvie umbee imported from Columbia? If you haven't I would say it's ignorant to believe that it's impossible for how many have been brought in to all be Magdalena and that not a single one can be different especially from the same country, I've seen the wild groups come in and there be a gorillus in the box. I bought that fish right then and owned it for almost a year when I lost it in a move. This fish also came with one of those groups

This fish was sold as a wild Columbian umbee and was later identified as gorillus because of its coloration, still a wild Columbian umbee though
