i will add that i know of a guy thats used to breed jars in oz and supply OS then his buyer found a supplier in a country north of us for much cheaper. they naturally range outside of oz also..and the cheap prices i see would indicate that jars you guys buy in the US atleast arent from OZ. i heard a while back that oz was trying to slow the export of them down for a lot was wild caught. if there still is alot being wild caught then that may explain the cheaper prices, but i imagine wild caught stuff from a country to our norht would be cheaper still.
We had a couple of 4.5" wild silvers in a few weeks ago, and the colouration was amazing such intense red and ive seen farm boys at the same size and they have very little colouration.
The only downside to wildys is that they are harder to get feeding
Ive got this book at home.. "awakening of the dragon"
and in one of the article spreads there on a particular singapore arowana farm they were breeding silvers captive bred..
Ill go home tonight and look for it and post up the farms name..
