Wild caught Peru oscar

Nice looking Oscars!
 
That one tank shot is the tank he was in for about 1 month. I moved him to the 75 with some other SA/CA cichlids. I thought it would take longer before growing out of that thing.
 
They loose the cool striping pattern within a month or two. They don't get the orange that captive breed have. Mine turned like a greyish steel blue and rust color. The only orange was around the eye spot. To answer your question, no they aren't the most colorful. But I think they are nice looking.

I liked it, my wife did not care for it. Along with the Oscar, I had a JD and Jag and fire mouths and she said my tank looked like it had no color. one of the reasons I rehomed and went a different route. But I liked them.

:(. But I think as long as they look diff from the cb oscar that people usually have, I'm okay with it :D. But I think the most beautiful oscar is umblebee? (Pls correct me if I'm wrong)

That is is why I liked the wild caught, they were different

I don't know if Bumblebee Oscars are the most beautiful I think it depends on who you are are talking to. My LFS had some called super reds and they were the prettiest I have seen. I also saw some "Golden" oscars and they where hot. Shoot I like them all :D
