Wild caught Striped Trout

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One of them turned up stuck to the filter this morning sans head and tail. After further investigation there was a hook stuck deep inside.
The other is still swimming happily and eating meal worms and small fish.
Next week I will take him to the park where he was caught and release him back to the pond.

Not sure what the laws are like over there, but i'm guessing its safe to say be careful not to get caught releasing them if that is what you choose to do...

I hate to say it, but you're better to just kill them. Otherwise, you endanger ALL the other fish in that pond by releasing those fish back in there, and introducing something that can kill them. Fairly common mistake to get fish you can't keep, just don't make the mistake of releasing them back into the wild. It's not worth it.

I am pretty positive that it is illegal to release aquarium fish in the wild, even if they just came from there. I don't suggest you do it.
