Lfs owner told me a bunch of them are bred in large ponds and the babies are collected in a similar manner to the way that datnoids are alleged to be being bred. I understand the latter example is scrutinized by many. He brought up black aro breeding with an air of certainty about him. I'll inquire further.

and LFS owners are always right

I don't actually think they are being captive bred even if they are I can't see them cutting the males head off to get the fry surely they would pull the mouth open like with Asian aro farms it seams a bit foolish to kill your breeding stock each time the harvest

YA I got mine a few weeks ago and it was wild caught from Peru. Munches on those arowana sticks because the seller had them for some weeks and fed that to them

If you can breed blk aro in captivity you will be a millionaire...... No one ever been able to breed blk in captivity..... I've seen ASian Aros being breed in tanks and that is a mile stone.....
