It would probably taste terrible imo, plus if you ever were to medicate or something it isn't recommended on food fish.

I see no problem eating it. And why would it taste terrible? Assuming you keep the water quality up I bet it would be more healthy than any processed fish or even natural fish now that were filling our streams with cow manure and sewage overflow.

Come to think of it I should catch some natives that I can keep for fun and than eat of dinner and go catch some more!
 
That's why I put IMO, to me I think there would be a taste difference because of the food you might feed it unless you feed it shrimp, who knows disregard it. I keep thinking of A fish called wanda when Kline eats some of the guy's fish.

I would still be worried about certain substances building up in the fish, but yeah a wild fish is pump full of mercury anyway.

If you eat it tells us how it tastes.
 
hehehe!!! yes sure!! :):):) Ill be sure posting the yummy fish im going fishing soon had a friend emergancy problem so had to race to the hospital she isnt going to make it too christmas they said :( she has a stomach problem which wont let her eat or drink fluids but yeh i dont know why i had to bring that up..
but ill sure post a pic of wat i catch and his new home when i put him in..

Terrible news. Sorry to hear that.

But, I wouldn't eat the fish afterwards. It's just not much of a pet then. If you want wild-caught gamefish that can live w/ a small tank and low maintenence then go for a Bluegill.
