tomorrow im going down to do some fishing and going to target some oscars.. thing is they arent native to florida (obviously) but they were born in the wild would they be considered wild caught or since each one of these fish have a bloodline that comes from fish that at one point were in captivity would they no longer be considered wild caught? it doesnt really matter as if i find one i like and hes small enough i will be putting it in my tank but im just thinking in theory they arent really wild caught but kind of are... lol

theres a thread on this search for it, its about a guy catching cichlids in hawaii or something. they maybe called feral if they were considered domesticated, otherwise they are wild. many would consider it dishonest to market them as wild and dont mention caught in florida.

well im not going to market them at all probly i just was wondering what the opinions would be.. like when i post a picture i would put it as wild caught FL oscar as my opinion would be they are wild caught but the collection point is FL so if i were to sell it thats what i would sell as..

good luck on ure fishin. take pics of the feral oscars lol

there will be pics for sure.. if i catch them that is.. im gonna take a net and see if i can find some juvies to net and keep.. i found my waterways im gonna fish if i can get to them.. should be fun.. maybe ill even find some other cichlids :-)

ft myers im leaving now to head down there

Good luck! bring us back something good :)
