there are lots of other cichlids that live in those canals as well - midas, jags, mayans, oscars and pbass. I really want to get down there to fish but haven't yet. Make sure you take plenty of pics.
Well I think they wouldnt be actually considered as wild because we list them by generation like F0 F1 F2. F0 is wild and F1 is the offspring of wild fish. Then F2 is the offspriing of those. They probably are not F0
The most oscars that i have seen have been off of 41 between miami and Naples. There are always people fishing for them. I think they may actually eat them. I just saw some jags today that were florida caught and had a couple hundreds babies in a tank.
well i had horrible luck i took the wife to the mall for the day and after it cooled some i was gonna go fishing and as soon as we left the mall it started to downpour in all the areas i knew to fish so i just headed home.. so unfortunately i caught nothing.. i actually didnt even get to fish.. spent too much time shopping with the wife.
True wild caught fish are the result of eons of survival of the fittest and natural selective breeding
Removing fish from the wild, subjecting them to aquarium standard breeding then releasing them back to the wild Will have put an interruption in their natural evolution
The degree of effect this interruption may have is arguable which means they cannot (honestly) be referred to as Wild Caught fish
