Ok so epsom salt mixed with the food...what kind? Anything I should avoid or look out for?

You need to use a 3% solution, and you need to use a food source that will absorb that solution, and something that your fish will readily consume.
You can inject it into earthworms if that works for you.

Injecting it into earthworms worked best for me. Its like a epsom salt solution pill. Be careful filling em up though. On more than would occasion the worm would burst a pinhole and spray my eyes, mouth and whatever else that is hanging around.
