Wild Female Festae.JPG

I've posted these guys on a couple other sites and would like the MFK members to chime in with any imput. I purchased them as "Wild Columbian Festae" at 2.5 inches about two years ago. These two killed two others from the original group of four. Much more aggressive than any other Festae I've owned. All they want to do is kill each other and anything else with them, even much larger Plecos. Colors are also nothing close to past strains I've bred. Male is about 8 inches and female is 5.5.

never seen one before, are they breeding for you? i want some babys if they are.

Very nice, that male looks like the original old school green festae that were in the hobby back in the 70's and 80's.

^I agree.
Like my dad always said "Green is nice":D

Nice! I would be very interested in some if they breed for You.

Interesting looking Festae. Have you had any luck breeding them?

I've tried breeding numerous times. I put them in the same tank with a divider for a couple months then change the divider out with one she can go back and forth. After a few weeks she starts displaying for him. No dropped tube and no red color. Then out of the blue he tries to kill her. Maybe he gets frustrated and shes not mature enough to breed yet.
