Beautiful fish. Do they usually keep so close together?

They are somewhat shy. They swim all over the tank until you start messing around with a camera. They don't like it much.

I deffinately prefer your wilds ... the first pics I don't thing were showing their coloration well though with the darkness, your FTS makes them look much more detailed despite the distance. Heckels are awesome though.

They are hard to photograph. The tank is not brightly lit, (they hate bright light) and tannins in the water further darken it. You may have to see them in person to fully appreciate how cool they are.

I find that discus are one of the easiest fish to photograph. they are not too active and like angels, they just hover and slowly move from one end to the other. it's the one fish that I have never had to use a flash. my tank shots are all taken with one 54 watt t8 bulb. of course good equiptment helps. I use a Nikon D300 with a 70-200mm 2.8 lens for single fish shots and a 24-70mm 2.8 for fts, and I use a monopod. a single flash off camera above the tank would be enough for any tank.

Nice wilds !!!!

Its not that people don't like the wilds its that there are not many Discus people on this fourm.

Your fish look great and I hope someday to have a tank of wild Discus I like the Greens myself Heckels are too picky from what I have read but are awesome.

Wow. I've never seen these before. They're beautiful. Are they hard to keep? May want to pick your brain on switching my broko tank to a discus tank.
