ok so i went out back to net some minnows to use as bait for fishing after netting about 10 "minnows" i took a good look at them in a see through container and they seem to be koi there gray look 100% like a gold fish but have whiskers like a koi i did some research and was told they could be a hybrid koi. what i understand is that someone put koi out there and bread with carp in turn hybrid koi was what i was told there cool i think..

they might not koi hybrid, since someone must be rich to throw out koi. They might be Asian carp that invaded the North American water or their hybrid with local carp !

oh wow cool well im going to net as many as possible to feed to my new gar i got today he seems to love them as a snack lol im also going to put some in my koi pond out side

I doubt they're koi. I've seen bright orange carp in the wild all the time. It's a natural color morph. In fact, that's how they started breeding koi hundreds of years ago.

I think I would be very careful feeding wild fish without quarantining them first. Thats a good way to give your new Gar something that could kill him. Honestly don't know if I would feed him those period. Might wanna start breeding cons or guppies for feeder fish sake. Would hate for you to lose him because of a lake parasite or disease.

nice R those tadpoles in the bottom of ur tank?
