how can you tell if an oscar is wild caught or bred in captivity? anyone know or can you not tell.

Not sure you can tell for absolute sure, but wild caughts typically have yellow or gold and black stripes vs orange blotches. They look really cool. There's also not any Red or Albino Oscars in the wild. I'd love to have a wild-caught one. The wanting one never goes away no matter how long I put it off.

more rings also around top fin area a wild one has shown up to six red dot rings on top fin or as little as 3 or 2

You can't tell. Of course if it's a red, tiger, albino whatever then it's CB but there's no way to tell the difference between a wild oscar and a CB oscar with wild parents/grandparents whatever...I've never heard of them having characteristics like the big lips on a wild red devil for example.
