Wild oscars

Hi, Please look at the tiger oscar in these two pics. I know the different types of oscars such as tiger, red, albino, etc.. Plus the newer strains. I know the fish in question is commonly referred to as a tiger oscar but i was curious if there are different strains of tigers etc..with oscars. I noticed he or she has more "stripes" instead of "spots". I have not kept oscars for many years and recently aquired these two as a rescue. It also has a super thin band of red along the edge of the dorsal and tail, not sure if that will help or not. I ask this because i am a front keeper and noticed that there are many forms of fronts and some of them look the same etc... These are rather poor pics of the fish (they just arrived today and the colors are off cause they are pouting still and traumatized) If you think it would help i can wait and repost some better pics when they settle in . I was bored and just thought i would post now for the heck of it.

Nice oscars. I don't know about different strains of oscars, but there are common oscars which look a lot like tigers, minus the orange. There are also short bodied oscars which come in tiger as well.

I thought there would be more than 1 person with a a crassipinnis or orbicularis...

I have two they are my favorite fish of all time. They are a lot like captive bred obviously but seem to have smoother more velvet like skin that changes color in an instant. Also mine are def more aggressive than any other oscar I have owned, at 6 inches one was jaw locking with my at the time 8.5 inch flowerhorn who is very mean. They were not as hard as I expected to get them to feed on pellets and what have you, probabbly b/c rapps had them for a little bit and they got used to eating pellets. They love to eat worms and other live food. Mine are 9.5 inches and 11 inches and are displaying mating rituals so Ive got my fingers crossed, hopefully theyre not both females. But Im ranting now so I would def recomend these fish to any oscar or cichlid lover great great fish.

Cichlid Girl

Your oscars look like 2nd grade quality tigers/red ? because of the faded / irregular colour .
But it could just be the light/cameraa ;).

Still looks nice and i can see the oscar spot/mark on his tail.

Do you mean wild occelatus or crassipinnisand others?
i have a wild oscar if thats what you mean:popcorn:
