Wild Ray eating problem

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Every move to a new tank is different for a ray.
Was he feeding night crawlers? Actually what I found worked amazing for me to break my first ray was to go out and buy baby crayfish he went nuts as soon as I put them in and started eating anything shortly after

Live ghost shrimp and live blackworms left in 24/7. Lights off and tank covered if necessary. Substrate will relax plus give a place for the blackworms to bury themselves and help the natural instinct of the ray to sift for foods ie: blackworms.

Ok I will try ghost shrimp. I have no idea where to get black worms here in Toronto area.

Also the smaller red wigglers can live months under water and dig into substrate where live crawlers will eventually drown.

Discount dragon aquarium in missisauga has live blackworms. Sorry to hear your troubles, hope things turn around for you

live black worms are like crack and should definitely do the trick. Once feeding on those start offering night crawlers or other prepared foods to try to get him to switch, just make sure you dont use the starve method once he finally starts eating.
