Most Senegal Bichir from most lfs are farm raised and genetically weaker from inbreeding. WC have a different look and probably will grow bigger and be stronger than the CB Senegalus Bichir imo.

Most likely they are from Nigeria. Bichirs from Nigeria are extremely common. That's one reason why Toyin doesn't even import Nigerian laps,Nigerian Endlis or sens often. Not too many people look for them anyway.Apparently up to 14"!

If so it's likely niger river, we have to do a comparison thread, one giveaway factor is a very slim build and rounded tail
Also, big warning about anchor worms with these guys. Do a treatment in QT, it'll save you a lot of hassle later down the line. They take a while to show up and a round of medication to clear the whole tank is needed. I just did salt dips and now they're back

QT is repmmended or spend $6 united states bucks on some prazi/metro fizzie tabs on meds to easily eradicate

Oh my gosh guys I want one so bad, but I need a bigger tank. Currently looking at 120s. But the ones on Craigslist are making me a little weary. The one I almost bought sprung a leak lol. Thankfully Jaws and friends prevented that from happening.
