Sorry if I'm draggin the waters, but i've been doing some research on trimacs, and I discovered what seem people refer to as "pyro" trimacs. Looks like gentleman in my neck of the woods named skip has been line breeding trimacs. I found an old thread on MFK that addresses this issue some what:

I'd like to know if anybody has anymore information on this. I don't know enough to make an educated guess about what's going on here, but i will say that this statement is highly suspicious:
Aren't chancho and amarillo different species? if you breed different species together doesn't that make a hybrid?
sounds like hybridization more than line breeding to me....
I'm interested to know your thoughts.
Here's some more media that shows these pyro trimacs:

Now for all of you who don't know what's a Pyro Trimac it's a line breed Trimac. Like for example the "Barred Midas cichlid" has many diff- blood lines such as the "Red Isletas/ Chancho/ Amarillo" and many more. But do we question if they're true barred Midas cichlids? No we don't because at the end of the day you have a Midas cichlid. So why some of you question the Pyro Trimac? Because the same go for them at the end of the day you have a true Trimac cichlid.
