Wild Tanganykian Eel?

Neato. I'll keep my eyes open for them around here. Also for A. elipsifer.

I thought they regrouped all the sub species into just mastacembelus and macrognathus or was that just the asian species.
unfortunately when I returned to the store the eel was dead in it's container. When my nursery tank becomes free again I think I might look into setting up a tank for one. If I'm able to get a connect to someone can get them I'll make sure to post.
elipsifer eels are also from lake Tanganyika if i remember correctly, and theres some on aqua bid right now
The face of that eel and the markings resemble julies. Evolution in that lake is just amazing. If you ever get one, make sure to post some pics!
I would consider getting something like this if the price was not to bad. I could get a young one since I have a fry tank and could grow him out in there if he was small enough for my bigger peacocks, although I doubt they would bother one, I wouldn't want to take the chance.
I am looking to upgrade my tank very soon and when I do this guy may have to be the next purchase once the tank is up...these seem very interesting from what I see online and little ready I just did. Let us know if you get one for sure, has anyone every had one? I would be real interested to hear some personal experience.
