Will 10" dats try to eat 2"-3.5" dats?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You won't have a problem. Good luck anyway.

I hope so... Only got a booger sized one just due to the symmetrical pattern that I have not seen. It looks prospective thus far. Who knows, might just get more cool ones if the indo catches my eye.

only problem is when feeding.. if they go for the same pellet of something the small one may end up in the big one.. but they don't deliberately eat their own..

Agree with this. It can happen. I woke up this morning to see no baby dat around. So, I lifted every driftwood piece until the last one. Finally, the bugger made an appearance, lol.....

I've recently added a 2" IT to my tank with a 12" NGT, no problem at all. I felt brave and went to add a 2.5" parrot cichlid and my ngt went to eat it, lol. Good thing I netted it in time. Dats don't eat dats.

Good to hear. I brought a new 2.5" NTT home last night (the big 11" distichodus died from the same transport though, a real bummer!) and put it in the discuss/clown loach tank. It will be joining the bigger guys soon after it starts eating. I'm more concerned about the 11" leporinus picking on it now though.

big tigers dont normally eat small tigers its like they know if they do the sharp dorsal fin will do them bad internal damage

I took my small indo out and just decided to put in a 55 gallon to grow out with my geos. Due to its stubbornness to eat. Only wants bloodworms and not really wanting to put BW in my tank with 40-45 hungry clown loaches, :-$ . Soaking with pellets in bloodworm juice is next, thanks to the uk guys ade and T1karmann of course. Now this bugger is eating after a week. Sunken stomach look on a indo is not sexy I tell you.
