i have
16" blue/black
17" silver arowana
19" jardini

i have a really bad snail problem and i need a clown loach

i have trouble finding big clown loaches
i found a lot but is only 3-4 inchs

arowanas diet is huge earthworms, silversides, blood worms, crickets, and pellets on some days if this helps

also have a 12" shovel nose and rtc

well, they are very expensive at the size your looking at. Large CL you buy are usually wild caught and don't do well in home aquarium. However a small shoal of clown loachs would surely take care of your snails, very quickly. You could try to provide enough cover and they might be fine. Either way CL are usually at the bottem and aro's dont usually mess with them, but the possibility is still there. If I were you I would just get a few reg. sized ones from petsmart (summer sale)
 
There's a really easy way to tell if one fish will eat another...will the smaller fish fit in the bigger fishes mouth? That's your answer.
