Pretty much like it says in the title. If I add a small harem of Lethrinops to an all male tank, will it throw off the balance or will the others ignore it? Will female mbuna throw a wrench in the gears?

Yes to cross breeding (and aggression) between haps and peacocks if the females overall do not outnumber the males by a large margin. Usually you jump through hoops to keep females our of an all male tank.

A harem of mbuna like yellow labs or acei could possibly work. Although if you have wimpy haps like lethrinops in the tank it may work better without them. Lethrinops are known for not coloring up in a male tank...best in a species tank.
