Will a fire eel eat my cory cats?

I was thinking about adding one to my 175g that has discus,angels, columbian tetras, cory cats, large black ghost knives, many different sizes and types of plecs, and a darter tetra. The BGKs won't eat the cories, just wonedering if this is a compatible match. I was thinking about getting one that is 6-10 inches long. Also, anyone know the growth rates on these things?

theres a pic of a monster fire eel around here, 24"+ with a tiny little cory cat in the picture. i cant remember who has it, but im sure theyll see thi thread.

but as far as cory with fire eels go, i think you'd be fine.

i doubt they will, but the bigger mine gets (he is 21-22") the bigger his appetite, he will eat anything....literaly!

what is the growth rate on fire eels?

if the eel is small when you get it and it grows up with the cories it wont bother them, but if u get a big one to start of with, well... thats a differnent story.

Mine's growing pretty slow. I've had him for about a month, and he went from 9 1/4 to 9 1/2 inches.

i have about a 12inch tire track or so and it doesnt bother my lil cories

The fire eel would have to be monsterous, otherwise it sounds OK to me
