how deep's the pond? there's a good chance he'll jump of there

Ponds not that deep, last time I checked it was around at 18". It was originally for kois. I guess I need to put a net around it then:(

yeah. at 18" it'll almost certainly jump. maybe not right away, but eventually.

i would be more woried about the fish having enough room than it jumping out. 3 Koi and an RTC will have that small of a pond more than full in a fairly short time. as for the gar jumping out...anything is possible. if they can jump out of an aquarium, i wouldnt see why they couldnt jump out of a pond.

Well the kois will eventually be transfered once the gar and rtc is catching up in size. I actually seen worst in a lfs, I'll try to snap some pics of it.

I guess netting it would be the only way then.

Thanks!!!

well the LFS's dont quite keep their fish in appropriatly sized tanks.

and one day the RTC will make a snack of your gar
no trying to discourage but that is what is gonna happen if the pond for both the fish is for life

this is probably true as well.

just because the lfs do it doesnt mean its right.
many lfs keep big fish in a little tank.
the rtc will outgrow the pond and eat everything.
the gar will definitly jump out at some time.
and before it does.
it might get eaten by the rtc.
