I have a 3.5" Delhezi and a 6.5" Senegal who is much larger by mass. It looks like he could if he wanted, eat the smaller Delhezi but i have seen smaller and larger bichirs together before. for now i have the delz in a ten gal. by himself for a growout, the sen is in a planted 20 long growout for a 55. could i put both in the 20? or will the sen eat the delz, and i just keep the in the current tanks untill i put the sen in the 55 when he gets larger then move up the delz to the 20? i hope this isnt to confusing. thanks

that is what i am thinking. i just think it is to risky and wouldn't want to lose my delhezi (which are rare in my are) to my over eagerness.

My 3" ornate bichir live in harmony with my 2 6"+ senegal bichirs without any problem. But if you're worried, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Bichirs are funny that way. Some are willing to eat there own brethren, and some don't.

I agree that you should keep them apart if you have any worries. I'm keeping some 5" delhezis with some 9+" assorted other upper jaw bichirs. Granted, I know them and I was very confident that the smaller ones would be safe.

I would never put them with my ornate though. I think Princess would eat them. She's a 17-18" monster who has eaten many smaller fish. Never another bichir while I've owned her, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I have had 2" bichirs eating 1" siblings and 1" Synodontis polli. If it fits in their mouth it will probably get eaten
