I'm thinking of putting a school of five or more clown loach in with my RTG.
I will supply some hiding places.
2 questions, will it work? will they eat my plants?
That's it really any advice, as always is welcome.
the leaves look like round leaf anubias,( looking at my book they could be Nana) but they're fixed in place on drift wood. The main stem runs along the length of the dead wood. They produce new leaves regularly. the stems with the leaves on are about 10cm.
The loaches will be about 3 inches, my RTG Arowana is about 14 inches but i believe they tend to leave loaches along.
I don't know if these pictures will help with the plant ID.
I'm also wondering if the loaches will be able to feed with the pebble substrate, I was thinking about clearing an area for them and using a finer gravel.
Add more driftwoods just in case the arowana attempts to chase the loaches around. Start with 3-4 inch clowns. Your plants are tough and shuld be fine.
Thanks Lumin. What about feeding with pebbles on the bottom of the tank?
Do you think it would be a good idea to clear an area and put a finer substrate in?

i have a mix of sand and Pgravel in my CL tank... they do a good job of getting all the bits of food... it also gives the snails i put in that tank a fighting chance.. they last a bit longer with something to hold onto... for what its worth...
more hiding places are always a good idea... and just be sure to never skip a feeding for the aro...
Further questions......If i supply a large area with gravel and substrate for the loaches to hide, will they be ok with my Arowana, as i previously said its about 14in long now so it's not going to grow quickly anymore and it gets fed well.
My tank is 60in x 30in x 26in so i could dedicate at least a 1/4 for CLs living requirements.
obviously they explore but they'll have a retreat.
What do you think, is it a gamble?
