Will a silver's barbels grow back?

I have heard of people in asia doing this. Not to sure if it works of not.

It could just severely stress the fish. Barbel is just an aesthetic aspect of the arowana
at this point.. It can do fine without one.

Yes it works I did it on my RTG. This was my preference to do so. Like redtailfool said it can cause a high stress level. That is why i used clove oil. It basically knocks the fish out for a bit causing it to go belly up.

Does anybody else have an arowana without barbels?

And if I did this I would just prick at it?

mine grew back. it took about 2 months and like yours he was a about 5 inches. good luck

Thanks for the optimism, erider. I am pretty sure they will seeing as I can see two two millimeter barbels sticking out.
