around the corner from the LFS
1 6" silver arowana, 2 Sveni ciclids 3" and 4", 2 whiptail plecos, 1 albino bristlenose pleco, 1 farowella, 1 whiptail farowella, 2 other unknown species catfish, 3 bamboo shrimp and 5 fiddler crabs. The 75 gallon tank they are in consistantly is stocked with 1-3 dozen guppies, 2-3 dozen ghost shrimp and 1-2 times a day I feed them live blood worms. I will be getting a 125 in 2 months then a 200+ gallon next fall. Will a snakehead be okay with these roommates?

You asked about a snakeheads habits with other fish and you from Chicago so I gave you a prompt answer....If you want to learn about snakeheads as pets just read the Channa species list

i have read the species list they seem like very cool fish I have done research on them i am just wondering if a snakehead is okay in a fish tank with other fish like mine. I am no no means asking for a snakehead or saying im going to own a snakehead I would just like to hear other peoples knowledge on this fish.

His knowledge and input is correct and what you should be looking for. Good luck even seeing a snakehead. They are illegal to import, export, breed, or sell in the U.S. As for your stock list, channa are extremely aggressive and predatory and any fish that they can't eat in one bite will eat in a few bites, they will try and shred other fish even if they don't intend to eat them. They are best kept species only or by themselves. Not everything you see on tv about them is true either, they can't live out of water that long, they are fish and will dry up very quickly.

Not really snakehead tend to be VERY AGRESSIVE. Back when they were legal i had a channa micropeltes it killed everything except for a common pleco i had. But other types of channa are less agressive but still would not be reccomended to house with many other fish. But like Darth said they are illegal where you live. I also Agree with what I<3fish said.

I see videos of these snakeheads housed with other tank mates and I am just wondering if there were plenty of feeders in the tank at all times if a snakehead would be less aggressive toward tankmates. Also having him slightly smaller than other tankmates as well at a young age.
