Will an Electric Catfish be ok with 5 Red Bellys?

It is five 1" RBP not 12" anything. This is a horrible idea no matter what the sizes of the fish are or size of the tank. You do not mix RBP with E-Cats, you just don't.

What I mean, is that all of them will pass the 12'' mark

I hear you and I do agree that it's a shame. But without people who don't house or care for fish properly the hobby would be extinct. No income. Everyone would buy their tanks and fish then only buy more fish every 10 years or so. I work in fish retail and our shop would be dead in a year without these people. I give my advice and then it's up them to take it or not but I never refuse a sale. So as long as the hobby exists, all I can do is give my advise and leave it at that. This is just my opinion and obsevations. I know where you are coming from and respect what you are saying. I too get pissed at idiots on here who just don't listen and I'm not the innocet either. I've gone off a time or two on here at morons but in the end its useless and scares newbies away from MFK.
 
i never put redbellys whit a catfish, unitl he could eat them of a mouthful and it measured about 60cm minimum, and reach a decent voltage, don put other fihes whit thr e. cat dont destinated for he feed.

the electricity its powerfull but the e.cats normaly are babys or littles

a big adult its strong

really te babys e. cat are docil and dont are strongs :(, you can put many e. catfish babys in the same tank and you cant fell the shock of 1" :(,

1 Big catfish its territorial, very agresive, kill other e. catfistes for defend hi territory, and can stun you, and kill fishes small easy, i think of for a 90 cm e. cat the redbellys are small fishes too. :/

the studies for 350 volts around online is for 50 cm e catfish but i dont can probe this for mi personal experience, mi e. catfish its a fat baby for now. :D

but i really whish test a decent shock

really i dream whit a true malapterurus electricus whit 60 cm or more or 1 m. miriya can reach decent size too.

really its hard find information about of the 23 species
