I just threw out 75 pounds of blue gravel, yuck. I did not experience a mini cycle when switching to sand.

I have a bunch of temporary bare tanks and when moving fish into them, I just replace a sponge filter in an established tank and move the old sponge filter into the new tank without any problems.

It will be fine.

Change the substrate then feed less or none at all if possible for a good week or two and do WC's like normal and you will be fine.

Should be fine since most of the BB SHOULD be established on the bio wheel
