Will I kill my catfish if...

FYI guys, ich doesn't have to come from somewhere...it's potentially always in the tank and held in check by the fishes immune system. It comes out when something (stress, crappy water, low temps) supresses the fishes immune system.

If this was a saltwater tank, where ich is almost impossible to eradicate, I would agree with you. However, in a freshwater tank, ich shows up, and ich is cured. He didn't mention any ich outbreaks recently, which is why I assume it is not ich. Also, the symptoms do not sound like ich symptoms. Then, later, he stated that he had introduced new fish, but his symptoms did not sound right. Now it looks like ich. In my experience, I have never had ich just show up in a tank. It has to be brought in from a newcomer. Perhaps this is wrong, but it is my experience.
