Hi all. I have a 75 gallon fish tank with an indo datnoid in it right now. He is about 4.5-5''. He is the only datnoid right now. I am going to be adding 2 more thinbar datnoids which will be about 3-4''. They are going to be living with a 3'' silver arowana, 3 3.5'' black bar silverdollars, 1 severum, and a royal pleco, and azul pbass, and some others. I was wondering what is the safest way to introduce the thinbars to the indo? I don't want them to fight. Should I net the thinbars into a bucket after accumliting in bucket and add indo to it. Or just add thinbars?

As small as all of the fish are,the dat actually might bully some of the other fish, especially the three inch arowana,he might try to eat it.I would just acclimate the thinbars the normal way and release them as the indo will likely size them up and assert his dominance no matter how you add them. They will need a few places to retreat to and settle in and if all goes well, you will soon need a bigger tank.

I am not sure if I am going to get the arowana or not now.. They just get way too big!
How long will the datnoids last in a 75? Are they slow growers? I am thinking of just having the 3 datnoids, black bar silverdollars, royal pleco, and a catfish in there.
I am going to add the thinbars normally and lets see how it will go! Thanks for the quick reply!

Good call on the aro.The dats are slow growers but some have had theirs put on a good bit of inches within a year with good food and water so you have at least that long to keep them in tht tank...Good luck with the thinbars, observe them closely and let us know if you notice anything that does not seem right.

He eats shrimp like a pig. It took him a good 4 weeks to eat though... he had me worried. I offered worms, pellets, tiliap for weeks... then I realized oh god I have shrimp here will he eat this? Bamn! He ate it. lol! I hope the ntt follow him and eat shrimp. His other side has like a 3v lol its hard to say its like the pattern by his tail.

I saw the other side in your other thread. You are using raw uncooked shrim correct?

Good and after a while you can stuff the shrimp with a good pellet and eventually get the dats to eat the pellets without the shrimp.
