will it get a Big head

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
looks like hard kok for me. i dont think the kok will grow large. with regards to the colors, the fish may have not adjusted properly to his new environment. he might still be stressed. give him some time.

Good news.......
the head has started to grow a littel. I have added soda bicarbonate in the aquarium. it helpd a littel..

Do not have much info about the quantity of soda bicarbonate to be added, for increacing the PH of the water. i added one tea spoon for 20 gallons. it helped a little, that too in only 48 hours. Any idaea on this one.

really doubt it will get a big plum
but the color is nice though it lacks pearling
but if you like the fish you needn't worry about the stats :D

do not play with the PH
fish usually will adjust if there is very little difference in PH
but if there are drastic changes in PH the fish might not handle it well

that's a good looking fish.

no baking soda dude!!! It doesn't last long, and way to hard to tell how much to use. You are better off putting some crushed coral in the filter. It will do the same thing and help buffer your PH. Higher PH tends to help with kok growth so your on the right track, but don't expect much from this guy in teh way of kok. It won't get much bigger.

Yea I do crush coral as well..its great for keeping a consistent ph and also increases the PH to about the high 7's so its within the safe range of flowerhorns..just soften it if you see that your fish is not eating or active ..also possibly give the fish a mirror to stare at his own reflection might help.

I heard keeping a parrot fish helps sometimes but i dont know if this is true.. like a smaller sized parrot fish but if it is then why not any smaller sized fish ahha anyways GL
