I feel bad for the lady. Nobody bothered to tell her the difference, and she was just expected to know and "not be an idiot". Of course she got upset, she had no idea why her beloved fish were dropping dead.

So this lady gets a few platys her first week, she has a 30g. Next week she gets some more and a few cories, then next time a few tetras and an algae eater, then finally some dwarf gouramis. All of this over a 2 month period. Then we redid our fish tags and they now say " Aquarium Salt Recommended!" So this lady gets the salt and is using for about 2 weeks when she starts to bring dead fish in. The way she was bringing these fish i thought she was just forgetting to take them in the house when she got home. So she brings in a sample of water, i test it, and here ammonia is really high, i was like you need to do a 25-50% water change immediately and start doing a 25% every 3-4 days to get your ammonia down. She says okay, she does that for 2 weeks, i test it again, still ammonia off the chart. She gets upset because she has been doing the water changes like shes supposed to. Then she comes in one day and says, i found the problem the STARFISH had died and they final found it under an ornament when they decided to just do a 100% water change!!! i was like a STARFISH that is a marine, aka SALTWATER fish. she goes they all are, they all require aquarium salt!!!
They told her it would clean her SALTWATER tank up real quick, they love algae.
That is i think my all time favorite.
i couldnt work in a lfs-id be lecturing them on waterchanges and refusing to sell pacus. i think over time, i would turn into a sarcastic a&*.

I think that everyone in America should have to take a basic intelligence test. If they fail it then they are sterilized and sent to live in closed off cities made out of soft materials with no sharp edges.
