I'm thinking of setting up a 29 gallon long with only cichlids in it, but the 29 I have left over is a lizard tank. I know the seams are going to leak but I bought cocking for that. I have it filled up with tap water right now to test it. would it be a useable fish tank after I fix the seams?

You bought "cocking" I think you meant to say caulking theres a big difference:ROFL:

Was the tank sold as a reptile tank or a fish tank. Reptile tanks are made with thinner glass and aren't meant to hold water the seams will eventually burst under the pressure.

this is just a what if, I'm just curious. What if i filled it halfway with water and turned the other half into a place for a turtle to bask on. like half water half vivarium?

okay haha its about 18 in high how about only 6 1/2 inches of water just enough for 3:
1 1/2" cichlids

Do you know if the tank is really ment for reptiles or is that just what you were using it for. Sometimes theres a sticker on the bottom that will say.

Putting fish in 6 1/2 inchs of water is not a good idea and would look dumb. Why not just buy another 29 they don't cost much if all you need is the tank.

yeah I guess thats what I'll have to do
